First MahaSaptaYagam in USA
Vedic Temple, Seattle conducted a GRAND MAHA SAPTAYAGAM on 6th of September in Rachana
Retreat Center, Redmond. The yagam was the first of its kind in USA. The event started
with rudram chanting. With the blessings of the Master, Swamis Bhaktananda, Sahajananda
and Aikyananda along with Swami Vimalananda conducted the yagam. Principal of Nithyananda
Gurukul from India, Ashramites from LA Vedic temple, Coordinators from San jose,
Oklahoma and Vancouver (Canada) also participated in this grand event. Lot of our
devotees from various centers in USA and Canada helped out in setting up the homa
kundas and also attended this historic event. Around 50 families did the yagam and
over 250 people attended the event. It is amazing to see that we finalized
the date and booked the venue about two months before the event when we had no clue
about the weather. People who have been to (rainy) Seattle would know how predictable
Seattle weather is !!! We had also decided to do the yagam in open area with absolutely
no shelter except for the dieties. However, With Master's grace, on the day of the
event, we had a PERFECT WEATHER and everyone present really enjoyed the homa.
The day after the yagam, Maha kumbhabishekam was done with energized water from
the kalashas kept in the yagam. Yagam participants came to the temple the next day
and did the abhishekam to the dieties themselves. Following the yagam and maha abhishekam,
we also did a grand Kalyana Utsavam in the evening. It was definitely a bliss filled
