Nithya Yoga Classes
Swami Bhaktananda visited Vedic Temple Seattle for a week. He launched
Nithya Yoga in Seattle, and conducted 5 90-minute sessions. Each Yoga session
started with Nithya Dhyan to cleanse us of our Samskaras (deeply
engraved memories). The session focused on cleansing and activating a specific chakra
(Energy Center) through a combination of visualization, awareness, intention,
yogic postures, pranayama and mudras.
Swami Bhaktananda explained the significance of Nithya Yoga, and how it is much more than what we normally understand as Yoga (asanas - body postures). Any movement of the body that we make with deep intention and awareness is Yoga. When the asanas are visualized and performed with a deep intention of being in bliss, the body starts expressing bliss, the mind starts experiencing bliss, and the being is bliss. Health and flexibility are a side effect of Yoga.
All the participants felt re-invigorated and blissful at the end of the session.
Following are some of the pictures taken during the Nithya Yoga sessions held at the temple.
